Took this photo of a Turkey Vulture today, with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's built in zoom lens. This was then cropped, but still. It wasn't many years ago that phone cameras were a complete joke! This bird was part of a small group, gliding on updrafts of wind that came up a steep mountainside. These wonderful updrafts are conveniently located on a ridge above a moderately busy four-lane road that has forest above and below it. Pretty much the perfect hunting spot for vultures. Still; watching them glide about is fascinating.
